Pastor Hilla Lahtinen

Hilla Lahtinen (HBMus, MDiv) is a pastor and a mother to two very busy girls, Lumi and Vilja. Hilla grew up in Finland, but has been calling Canada home for almost 20 years. After working in music as a choral conductor, music director, and teacher for a decade, Hilla felt called to study theology and train for congregational ministry. She loves to build community, explore questions of faith and doubt with others, study scriptures, and find ways to make the church a welcoming place for all. She also loves camping, hiking, reading, and baking with her kids. Hilla is married to Ronnie Smith and they serve the congregation of Peace as a ministry team.

Heddi Gregor, Parish Nurse

The Parish Nurse, Heddi Gregor, is concerned about the spiritual as well as the physical state of the congregation and community members she meets. She is in ongoing communication with the pastors and supports their ministry through devotional home visits (with communion if requested). The Parish nurse also represents Peace Lutheran Church through outreach: devotions and services in community, seniors’ residences, and hospitals; additionally, she brings the community into the church through partnership with “The Youth Centre” by hosting cooking programs with young mums in the church kitchen.
